I am in charge of putting together a breakfast for about 35 people every Friday. We have fruit, muffins, croissants and the favorite bagels. One of the guys kept bugging me to this guillotine. He was concerned about someone cutting themselves.
Well, I finally broke down and purchased it. What a wonderful item. Everyone loved it. Some are even going to buy them for their own homes.
It does not squish the bagel, and makes the cut easy, just a gentle push and Voila!!!
Perfect...with one suggestion
While I don't consider this a kitchen essential, it is definitely one of the "nice to have" items. Our family goes through quite a few bagels a week, and cutting them with the guillotine and then freezing them makes life a lot easier. My kids are older and can use a knife, but I prefer they use the guillotine so as not to risk life and limb! My only complaint is I wish the product were available in black to match my kitchen decor.
Bagel guillotine
Best single-purpose item in my house. Bagels sliced uniformly. No more cuts or nicks to my hands. Dishwasher safe. Should have got one years ago.
